Oracle Consulting & Project Delivery
RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate, upgrades and migrations — delivered by engineers who run them in production.
Why this matters
Some database work can't be done by the team that keeps the lights on: a major version upgrade, a move to Real Application Clusters, a disaster-recovery site, a replication project with GoldenGate, or a performance crisis that needs deep tuning. Our consulting practice delivers these as fixed-scope projects — planned, executed and handed over with documentation — by DBAs who have done them many times before.
What's included
- Architecture assessment and design
- RAC implementation and cluster stabilisation
- Data Guard standby and DR runbooks, with switchover testing
- GoldenGate replication and zero-downtime migration
- Version upgrades (11g/12c/19c to 19c/23ai)
- Performance tuning: AWR/ASH analysis, SQL tuning, memory and I/O
- Knowledge transfer and documentation handover
Outcomes you can expect
- Projects delivered on scope, with tested rollback plans
- High availability that has actually been failover-tested
- Documentation your team can operate from
- No vendor lock-in — your environment, your knowledge
Typically engaged by
- Enterprises planning an Oracle upgrade or consolidation
- Teams that need high availability or a DR site built properly
- Companies replicating data between systems or to the cloud
- Anyone with a performance problem their current team can't crack

How the engagement works
Every project starts with a scoping call and a written statement of work: scope, timeline, deliverables and a fixed price. Work is delivered remotely with on-site presence where the project needs it. Post-project support is available through our managed services.
Representative engagement
RAC stabilisation and Data Guard DR for a regional bank
Challenge
A two-node RAC cluster behind core banking suffered recurring node evictions, and the disaster-recovery site had never been failover-tested — a regulatory finding waiting to happen.
What we did
Root-caused the evictions to interconnect and ASM configuration, re-engineered the cluster, built a physical standby with Data Guard, and ran documented switchover drills with the bank's team.
Outcome
Zero unplanned cluster outages in the twelve months after remediation; DR switchover demonstrated in under fifteen minutes; audit finding closed.
